Springsteen collaborates on anti-war film

Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Pearl Jam have contributed songs to the soundtrack of a new anti-war documentary.
Billboard reports that 'Body of War: Songs That Inspired an Iraq War Veteran' will be released on 18 March on Sire Records.
All proceeds from the album will go to Iraq Veterans Against the War.
The documentary 'Body of War' tells the story of Tomas Young, a US Army soldier paralysed in Iraq.
The film will open on 13 March in Austin, Texas before opening across the US in subsequent months. European release dates have yet to be revealed.
Talk show veteran Phil Donahue co-directed the film with Ellen Spiro.
Young was the driving force behind the album, which features the single 'No More', composed specifically by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder for the film. Pearl Jam's live version of Bob Dylan's 'Masters of War' also features on the soundtrack.
Springsteen's track 'Devils & Dust' is on the album, as is Neil Young's 'The Restless Consumer'.
Other songs featured include 'Yo George' from Tori Amos, 'Son of a Bush' from Public Enemy and 'Bushonomics' from Talib Kweli and Cornel West.

Band is bi-Ting Ting the Apple

TOP Brit band THE TING TINGS have hit the big time after US technology giant
Apple picked their new single for the latest iPod TV ad.

Shut Up And Let Me Go will feature on KATIE WHITE and JULES DE
MARTINO’s new album We Started Nothing, released on May 19.

The band found out the Apple news before playing the Carling Academy in
Islington, North London, on Monday for the MTV Spanking New Music Tour.

If that sensational show is anything to go by, their label should give them
good news before every gig.

Amy 'Winemouse': 'Please don't divorce me Blake'

Amy Winehouse has been papped picking up bouquets of flowers from her doorstep sent to her by husband Blake Fielder-Civil in celebration of their first wedding anniversary. The Mirror's 3am team admits this is a "blooming lovely gesture" from Fielder-Civil, currently awaiting trial for perverting the course of justice and GBH charges, but the Star is more concerned with how he has turned to religion in a bid to save their marriage. "Blake has been praying because he thinks it's the only thing that will make a difference," while Amy allegedly "spent her anniversary drowning her sorrows at home." Or, perhaps, playing with baby mice with her good friend Pete Doherty as you can see from this peculiar footage the pair posted online.
"This one's got a message for Blake," says the singer, pointing a tiny creature at the camera. "Please don't divorce Amy, she loves you ever so." Not quite as touching as having thousands of pounds worth of flowers strewn at your feet, but a lovely gesture nonetheless.

When not busy fondling small creatures this weekend, Pete and Amy joined Bizarre's Smart Gordon at the annual Celebrity Soccer Six tournament. He reports: "We had a good start in the group stage, beating rockers the Automatic 2-1. Next up was the grudge match with Pete Doherty's Babyshambles. And despite him bringing along some ringers and a minger, in Amy Winehouse, with Kristian Marr below, the game was a 1-1 draw." Yes, despite the fact that Amy Winehouse and Kristian Marr were present, this did not guarantee a win for Babyshambles. It didn't guarantee a win for Smart Gordon either, who crashed out in the semis, losing 3-1 to Faithless. As always, it could have been worse for the Bizarre man, he alleges Doherty had planned to "snap Smart in half".

Kim Dawson of Kim Dawson's Playlist has been talking exclusively to "soul sensation" Adele about what inspires the 20-year-old to write songs - as with all true artists, it's misery and heartache: "It's when I'm threatening to kill myself I write. You probably won't hear a happy song from me." But the singer clearly feels aggrieved by those who dismiss her "deep" relationship with the boy who inspired her album 19 as nothing more than youthful infatuation, saying: "I think a lot of people think, 'Oh she's only 19 what does she think she's writing about?' If people think I shouldn't be writing about that then they can f**k off and don't listen to my music." Ah, it's like poetry in motion.

Lindsay Lohan opens up about life post-rehab

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has spoken about her party girl image six months after leaving a rehabilitation facility in Utah.
The 21-year-old star told Glamour magazine that she hoped to rid her life of bad influences and return to work following her stay at the Cirque Lodge clinic.
In her first interview since rehab Lohan said: "There are friends that have been hard to hang out with because they've gone down a different path. But it's hard because I'm the kind of person who wants to trust everyone."
She added: "I'm fine being alone during the day, but I hate being alone at night. I like having friends around me, but now I'd much rather be at home. That's not to say I'll never go to a club again, because I'd be lying."
Asked what she believes is the biggest misconception others have about her, Lohan replied: "That I don't have my head in the right place. That, and probably that I'm not a good person ... because actually I am."
